Granite worktops can take up to 40 million years to makes so we are confident in saying they are built to last!

As a kitchen work surface, it is an ideal material, hard wearing, heat & stain resistant, easy to clean and maintain. It has a natural elegance that will enhance any kitchen.

For those wishing to mix their worktop materials, granite looks great alongside wood.

Normally available in two thicknesses, 20mm and 30mm, by default we specify the later, as 20mm always appears a little "mean".

As our cabinets are so substantially built, we need make no additional modifications to accommodate the extra weight, although we do add a complete substrate (an unseen worktop) to protect the granite should heavy objects fall on the surface.

The cost of granite work surfaces is not inconsiderable, especially if cut-outs, drainer grooves and detailed edgework are involved, however this should be considered in the light of its many advantages (its serviceability over several lifetimes for instance!)
