Slate
Slate is hardwearing, easy to clean and heat resistant. It is a softer material than granite so will scratch, and does require sealing.
From experience, we have found that over time slate develops a patina, which not only enhances the appearance but seems to toughen the surface.
Laminate
Laminate surfaces are maintenance free and easy to clean, resisting most household chemicals. They can tolerate high temperatures and with care, you can chop food directly on the surface.
The choice of colour and texture is wide, with a finish to complement most kitchen designs.
At Crick House we use only high quality laminates. Often to add the personal finishing touch, we surround the laminate surface with a narrow hardwood bead.
Tiles
The great advantage of tiles is the vast selection of colours and textures available. Whatever the style and décor of your kitchen, there is certain to be tile to suit. All our tiled surfaces are surrounded by a hardwood edge of your choice.
In use, tiles are hard wearing and durable, resisting high temperatures, knocks and scratches. Day to day cleaning is simple and easy.
Advances in grout technology means cracking and staining are a thing of the past.
Stone Composite
In use, has all the advantages of granite, having the added advantages of being less Porous, which means no sealing is required. It is a very hygienic product.
There are several companies in the UK, all offering a wide choice of colours.
Stainless Steel
A very hard wearing, easy to clean and hygienic material.
It is stain resistant and tolerates high temperatures. It can scratch, both in use and when cleaning.
